AFFRESCHI & AFFRESCHI | SALONE DEL MOBILE 2026

Where vision becomes reality

THE MANIFESTO: ETHEREA

At the 2026 Salone del Mobile, Affreschi & Affreschi unveiled a space where solid stone meets ethereal air. It was in this space of pure suggestion that Etherea was born — a collection that asks the material to become light. We have transformed our artisanal plaster — a living substance of lime and marble dust — into a tapestry of visions, where contemporary design engages in dialogue with the ancestral spirit of the wall.

With Etherea, decoration does not merely occupy space; it liberates it. Every exposed surface is an invitation to look beyond and touch the fabric of a dream that has become reality.

THE SOUL OF MATTER: BEYOND THE SURFACE

In our exhibition space, the handcrafted fresco reveals its noble and vibrant nature. Unlike standard wall coverings, the pieces on display are made from a blend of natural lime and selected marble powders, applied by hand in accordance with Italian traditions.

It is the porous, irregular texture of this tactile substance that conveys the authentic feel of handmade plaster. This material combines artisanal uniqueness — where every micro-imperfection is a seal of authenticity — with the flexibility of a surprising art form. It is just 1 mm thick and ready to meet any architectural challenge without ever losing its stony integrity.

THE CHAPTERS OF DESIGN

The narrative of the booth unfolded through the designers’ interpretations of our material, giving life to diverse and profound worlds. Starting with the rigorous geometries of Studio Milo, which challenge perspective by playing with solidity and void, we then move on to the poetic layers of Studio Zero, where lime evokes memories and historical fragments. Our gaze then shifts towards the eastern horizons of Marta Cortese, who infuses the fresco with the lightness of silk. Finally, we arrive at the primordial force of the Bali series, which offers a vital reconnection with the botanical energy of the tropics. This is a collective journey where every surface becomes an imprint of time on the skin of architecture.

A fresco is more than just a covering; it is a mark of time on the skin of architecture.
